Interventional Radiology RUC Survey Launch – June 13

ATTN Interventional Radiology Specialists:

The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) has announced that RVS Update Committee (RUC) surveys will be sent starting June 13, 2025, to randomly selected SIR members. If you receive a survey via email, please complete it as soon as possible. The survey window is expected to close around July 4, 2025.

What is the RUC?

The RUC is a multispecialty advisory committee that evaluates the resources required to provide physician services. These recommendations are considered by CMS in determining Medicare Relative Value Units (RVUs) and ultimately affect how your services are reimbursed. While the RUC advises, CMS makes the final decision on Medicare payment rates.

To better understand how these AMA RUC surveys function, – even if you are not selected – we highly encourage you to review this important AMA resource: PowerPoint Presentation

We also advise that practice administrators and billing staff are alerted to be on the lookout for these surveys, which will arrive electronically, to ensure timely completion if selected.

Thank you for helping protect fair reimbursement for interventional radiology.
