Dear Friends of StreamlineMD and the CardioVascular Coalition (CVC):
Each of us who works in the field of cardiovascular and peripheral artery disease has the same primary goal: the welfare of our patients. Since 2014, the CVC has been working hard to fight for the payment stability and coverage policies that are critical to that end.
Prevent Payment Cuts:
This past year, the CVC was successful not only in working with the EM Coalition to secure a 2/3 mitigation to the CMS cut to the 2021 Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor, but also in securing wins on venous stenting (17% and 27% increases to 37238 and 37239, respectively) and a a 5% increase to endovenous radiofrequency ablation. In addition, as a result of CVC advocacy, lawmakers in the 116th Congress introduced the Amputation Reduction and Compassion (ARC) Act, which is first-of-its-kind legislation to prevent avoidable amputations. The ARC Act is poised for reintroduction in the 117th Congress.

2021 will present many challenges as well as opportunities as we continue to work with stakeholders to secure additional relief from the Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut, push hard for enactment of the ARC Act and continue to fight for payment stability for our sector. To those ends, it is critical we support lawmakers and candidates for national office who share the principles and mission of our organization.
