StreamlineMD EHR Enhanced for 2021 E&M Guidelines

StreamlineMD EHR Enhanced for 2021 E&M Guidelines

StreamlineMD EHR version 20.5.1 will be released on Monday, February 1, 2021 and will include an Interactive Tool to assist with the new 2021 E&M documentation and coding guidelines.

This Interactive Tool allows providers to understand and determine the appropriate E&M code to assign based on evaluation guidelines for medical decision making (MDM) versus time.

StreamlineMD recently published a blog summarizing the new 2021 E&M guidelines here.  Or, you can also view the AMA guidelines directly here.

Please review these new changes as soon as possible to determine whether E&M code assignment based on “time” spent versus “MDM” makes most sense for you and your practice.

If your practice will be using MDM Guidelines and would like to add additional documentation to your encounters/templates, please contact your EHR Implementation Specialist who will assist you on making those changes.

Please review the video for the 2021 E/M Coding Changes.
